Career Profile:
Drilling Reservist Marine #1209

Being a United States Marine is a source of pride for this Drilling Reservist Marine. Setting challenging goals for himself, he signed up for the Marine Corp right out of high school.

While in boot camp, he took a test to serve in the Presidential Guard Unit. He passed the test, went thorough extensive top security clearance training and spent the next two years serving as a Marine guard for President George Bush at Camp David.

After completing his full-time enlistment period, he returned to civilian life. Before long he found himself missing the camaraderie, the physical training and the challenges that the Marines offer. He decided to join the Marine Corp Reserves, which involves a commitment of one weekend a month and two weeks every summer in military training. There's also the possibility of being called for active duty in the event of a national need. He enjoys serving as a squad leader, leading 13 other Marines through rigorous physical training and warfare exercises. He also goes out of his way to keep in touch with, and help, his squad members year-round.
