Senior Research Associate #1133 - Tape Number: 1133

Career Profile:
Senior Research Associate #1133

This entomologist is proof that agriculture is a global field. His research takes him to Hawaii and Puerto Rico several times each year.

As a boy he always wanted to work in agriculture, but economics prevented him from starting his own farming operation. After spending two years in the military, he decided to continue his education in entomology, the study of insects.

Now, he works for an international seed corn company. A major job responsibility is testing genetically modified crops for insect resistance. He works closely with researchers at universities and the United States Department of Agriculture to ensure that the effects of genetically modified seeds are safe for animals and the environment.

He enjoys the variety of his work and likes spending his summers working outside in the field.
