Not everyone goes into their field right after school. This Box Office Manager began her career as a teacher. After getting a degree in Elementary Education, she substitute taught for a few years. She then went into the business world, where she honed computer and typing skills. Managing a theater box office takes technical office skills as well as the ability to communicate. Dealing with people and public meetings are often a part of the job, so people skills are invaluable. Her favorite part of working at the box office is meeting people from around the world who come to see theatrical performances.
