When this home health aide was 16, her grandmother suffered a stroke and was moved to a nursing home. She spent a lot of time visiting her grandmother and found herself visiting other residents, too. Her love of caring for others has stuck with her. In 1990, she decided to become a certified nurse aide. She spent 75 hours in class at a community college to become certified.
She now cares for people of all ages in their homes. Her favorite part of being a home health aide is using humor to bring a smile to someone's face, especially those unable to communicate verbally.
