As an engineering major in college this paramedic decided to enroll in a CPR class. He discovered a keen interest in the medical side of the sciences and decided to pursue further training. He then went to Emergency Medical Training (EMT)school and to paramedic school. His certification included 300 hours of clinical time and 200 hours of time in an ambulance. Since he's been with a metropolitan fire department, he has continued to take advanced EMT classes. He says important skills in his field are patience, effective communication, and the ability to think quickly. He finds the most rewarding part of his job is knowing a person walks out of a hospital feeling better because of his medical intervention.
