After researching the principals of quality child care and wanting to be more directly involved with child care, he developed a small group, multiple-age child care program out of his home.
Although he does not have to travel to another job location and works in his home, he is entirely committed to his work during the day. He says it is hard work but exciting because it is his own business.
Career Profile:
This child care provider, a former U.S. Marine sergeant, sought a job at a day care center and discovered he enjoyed working with children. In his 18 years of providing child care, he has been in a number of positions from classroom staff to center director.
