Career Profile:
Business Owner #1098

This artist spent 12 years after high school working for an insurance company. Her employer offered to pay for a college education in marketing. She took advantage of the opportunity and spent three years working and going to college. As she began taking art electives, she realized this was where she belonged.

Several years of art education followed, resulting in a Master's degree in sculpture and glass. This artist is also a business owner and began getting paid for her work during college. She now owns a glassblowing and sculpture studio in rural Iowa. Her work is sold and displayed all over the U.S. She is the only full-time, professional glassblower in Iowa.
