  College - Iowa State University, four-year degree (bachelor of arts) plus two more years for master's of architecture
  High school -- worked in father's construction company.
  During college, worked most summers at architecture firm near his home town
  High school - participated in football, basketball and track
  College - participated in student chapter of American Institute of Architects
